In an urge to explore the role culture plays within the global distribution of the photographic image, the artist made a series capturing and thus portraying her past memories. Each image has been designed to be questioning, yet the viewer remains able to experience the associated emotions the artist originally felt despite been unaware of the context. Capturing the images in the style of iconic movie scenes triggered these emotions; where iconic scenarios have achieved a social status beyond their mere visual representation, the material has the potential to elicit shared emotional reactions. The series focuses on shocking and frightening memories in an attempt to defy the natural human tendency to repress in order to forget.
